‘On fire’: England-based player sends message to Rangers midfielder

Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has taken to Instagram to express his delight at his side’s win against Hamilton Academical at Ibrox at the weekend.

The Gers hammered Hamilton 8-0 at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Aribo was among the goalscorers. The 24-year-old Nigeria international midfielder found the back of the net in the 19th and the 36th minute.

The former Charlton Athletic midfielder has revelled in the win on Instagram, and his Nigeria international teammate and former Udinese central defender William Troost-Ekong, who is now on the books of Watford in the Championship in England, has responded to his message.

Troost-Ekong responded: “On fire 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, hosts Rangers had 77% of the possession, took 24 shots of which 14 were on target, and earned seven corners, according to BBC Sport.

According to WhoScored, Aribo took two shots and both ended in goal, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 84.8%, won one header, took 64 touches, attempted two dribbles, made four tackles, and put in two crosses.

Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 38 points from 14 matches.
