Justin Kluivert reminded Tottenham Hotspur why they were linked with him previously on the day that Spurs were linked with another striker.

Tottenham fans may have been alerted by the Sunday Mirror’s report at the weekend which suggested that Mauricio Pochettino is interested in Schalke forward Breel Embolo as he looks to strengthen the club’s striker options.
Embolo is just coming off the back of a long-term injury and is yet to score for the Bundesliga side since returning, watching from the bench as an unused substitute as his side came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 with Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.

But while the Swiss is still awaiting the chance to open his account for the season, another striker linked with Tottenham just last month proved with his latest performance exactly why the Premier League side were scouting him.
And in Ajax’s clash with Roda on Sunday, the 18-year-old provided a real indication of why he is so highly rated as he scored a stunning hat-trick to inspire the Eredivisie giants to a 5-1 win.

Amongst the treble was a brilliant long-range effort, while he also showcased his lethal pace to help Ajax come from behind to claim the emphatic win.
With the goals being Kluivert’s first of the season in the top flight, it would be no surprise if Tottenham feel that they need to see more from the teenager before they consider making a move – but perhaps the hat-trick just saw Kluivert move up the list of priority targets on the day that Embolo was linked.
