
Some Leeds United fans have been drooling over Lewis Bate after yet another good performance for the youth side.
Leeds’ U21s played against Salford City in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday evening, and while they lost 5-3, there were plenty of solid performances.
Bate was undoubtedly the Whites’ star player. The midfielder didn’t manage to run the game in the way he usually does – hence the 5-3 loss, but he put in an incredibly energetic performance and he looked brilliant on the ball.
Bate provided the moment of the game as he scored a fantastic solo goal, running from his own half orchestrating a one-man counter-attack before lifting the ball over the opposition goalkeeper.
As you can imagine, the former Chelsea man’s performance got Leeds fans talking and there were even some fans calling for him to get a first-team chance.
