There’s been some very encouraging signs from Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale over the past week – and if rumours are believed, he’s set to earn a rare start in the Premier League.
Bale dazzled in the final quarter in the 3-0 defeat away to Manchester City last weekend, before reminding Spurs fans of his quality and athleticism with a brilliant goal against Wolfsberger in the Europa League on Thursday.
Since returning to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid, the 31-year-old has started just twice in the Premier League.
But according to The Mail, Jose Mourinho is set to reward him with a place in the first XI for Sunday’s trip to London rivals West Ham United.
Here’s how some Lilywhites fans reacted to that prospect:
Bale certainly has a big point to prove to everyone this season.
Yes, he’s still a household name and was one of the biggest transfers of last summer, despite it only being a loan.
But he hasn’t performed anywhere near good enough under Mourinho this season, though a sparkling display against the in-form Hammers tomorrow might just sway the perception of him once again.
