Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing what Virgil van Dijk uploaded to Instagram yesterday evening.

The £75 million colossus posted a video of himself back at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre after doing some of his rehabilitation abroad.

Van Dijk showed himself running in a swimming pool, while watching the movement of his legs underwater on a TV screen in front of him.

It may have been a clip that was barely longer than ten seconds, although it certainly seems to have excited a few Liverpool supporters below.

It’s extremely encouraging to see the Netherlands international running underwater and putting pressure on his injured knee.

In the clip, Van Dijk seems to be running naturally, with no sign of a limp or anything like that, which is a huge relief.

It would be incredible if the 29-year-old made an appearance this season, given the severe nature of his knee injury.

However, it could be argued that even having him back at the AXA Training Centre is big for the Liverpool squad.

Liverpool’s No.4 is a huge presence within the squad, and his voice in the dressing room will have, presumably, been sorely missed.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying after a supporter posted a screenshot from Van Dijk’s Instagram video…
