Fans from a number of different clubs have taken to Twitter to pile the praise on Leeds striker Patrick Bamford for his views on the Super League.
Speaking after last night’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, the £10 million man spoke superbly on what’s wrong about the elitist concept.
As quoted by Sky Sports at Elland Road, Bamford said: “From what I’ve seen on Twitter, I haven’t seen one football fan who’s happy about it.
“Football’s for the fans. Without the fans, football clubs would be nothing. It’s important we stand our ground. It is amazing, the uproar, and it’s a shame it isn’t like this with other things, like racism.”
You can see why the football world has fallen in love with these comments.
Bamford makes a number of excellent points, and spoke the minds of millions who adore football.

Specifically, his remark about racism was a brilliant thing to mention.
Clubs left, right and centre have been releasing statements on the Super League, while Boris Johnson has also threatened to get involved.
Where’s this energy when some footballers can’t even look at their phone after a game, because they know racial abuse awaits them behind the screen?

From our point of view, Bamford has gone up in our estimations.
If more footballers speak out in similar fashion, like James Milner did at full-time as well, we can hopefully put a stop to this Super League nonsense.
Let’s see what fans from a range of different clubs have been saying about the Leeds No.9’s comments…
