Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Telegraph published an article revealing how Fenway Sports Group view their January business.

Chris Bascombe writes that FSG believe they did everything they could to sign new faces over several weeks, before going ahead with the signings of Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak.

Bascombe adds that FSG are adamant they have reinvested as much as they can into the squad.

Now, this hasn’t gone down too well with the Liverpool supporters, and you can see why.

When the champions of England can only spend £1.6 million in January amid a severe injury crisis, questions are always going to be asked.

The fact that FSG believe they could’ve invested no more than that is worrying – surely Liverpool had more than £1.6 million in the transfer budget?

If this stance from FSG is true, it should concern the Anfield faithful.

If that’s all they can reinvest, how is Jürgen Klopp meant to keep up with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, who spend millions every year?

Hopefully, FSG are just bluffing ahead of the summer transfer window, where the former Borussia Dortmund boss simply has to be backed.

If Liverpool fail to recruit well this summer, and continue to suffer injuries, we can’t see them retaining the Premier League title anytime soon.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about The Telegraph‘s update…
