Some Arsenal fans think the price of going against Florentino Perez is a hugely-reduced chance of signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal officially pulled out of the Perez-led European Super League on Tuesday night following huge unrest after the announcement that the Gunners and five other Premier League clubs would be leaving UEFA to compete in their own privatised midweek division.
It remains to be seen if there are sanctions for the North Londoners and the other five English clubs who broke away.
But Arsenal fans think one punishment could centre around Odegaard.
Prior to this venture, the Emirates Stadium club were interested in signing the Norway international on a permanent basis, following an excellent half-season loan.
Thing is, he is on loan from Real Madrid, whose president Arsenal have just abandoned – Perez.
And suffice to say that some Gooners on Twitter fear that Perez will avenge this ESL snub by refusing to do business with Stan Kroenke.
