Liverpool seemingly might be going back in for Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.
The Premier League champions were heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old powerhouse last year but a switch to Anfield never materialised.
Corriere Dello Sport reported last June that Liverpool had made an ‘extraordinary’ bid for the Napoli centre-back.
In the end, the Reds didn’t wind up signing a central defender and given Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez’s injury this season, you could argue it was a fatal mistake for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are 22 points behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
But it looks like the Merseysiders are trying to learn from that mistake and according to Il Matino in Italy, Liverpool is once again an option for the Senegal international.
The report adds that he could be available for £39 million and here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the possibility of Michael Edwards bringing him in.
