Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Mattéo Guendouzi scored for France’s Under-21 side against Iceland’s Under-21s last night.
The 21-year-old opened the scoring with a well-taken goal following a low cross in from the right.
It was a Frank Lampard-esque, late run into the box which was timed perfectly by Guendouzi, so he could meet the ball without breaking stride.
After his 17th minute strike, Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard – believed to be a target for Arsenal, according to the Scottish Daily Mail – doubled the lead in the 38th minute.
It attracted plenty of attention from the Arsenal fans on Twitter, perhaps because Guendouzi has had a relatively quiet campaign so far.

While on loan at Hertha Berlin, the Poissy-born maestro has been scrapping it out for one of the Bundesliga’s worst sides this term.
He’s gained decent experience having made 20 appearances, in which he’s scored twice and assisting twice.
However, Hertha Berlin currently sit 14th, just two points above the relegation zone and one point above the relegation play-off position.

Having said that, it’s good to see him star once again for France’s Under-21 side, who he often excels for.
Guendouzi captains the team, and has earned 20 caps for the Under-21s.
Let’s see how the Arsenal fans on Twitter reacted to his goal…
