Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after a six-second video of Fabian Delph emerged from yesterday’s 1-0 win over Arsenal.

The footage in question shows the 31-year-old attempt to play a long-range pass to Lucas Digne, who is sprinting down the left flank.

Somehow, Delph instead manages to make the ball go behind him.

Luckily for the £9 million man, Mason Holgate was there to mop up the mistake, and prevent Martin Ødegaard from running in on goal.

You could see exactly what Delph was trying to do.

However, it just didn’t work out for the former Manchester City man.

Perhaps the ball was bobbling as he struck it, or he took his eye away from it to scan where Digne was running to.

Whatever the reason, it made for a hilarious bit of footage.

In fact, Delph was probably just really, really rusty – he’s barely played any football this term.

The 20-cap England international has only been handed six Premier League appearances this season by Carlo Ancelotti.

It seems the arrivals of Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez have severely impacted his playing time.

Let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about his 84th minute error…
