Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Virgil van Dijk posted a four-word tweet updating supporters on his injury rehabilitation.
The colossal Dutchman posted a video of himself working hard at the AXA Training Centre, captioned ‘feeling strong, feeling good’ – that is great news.
As well as his tweet, yesterday also saw Van Dijk sit down for an interview with Liverpool’s official website, where he made a big revelation.
The £75 million man said he will be sitting out of EURO 2020 this summer, and will instead focus on ensuring he is ready to start the 2021/22 season.
While that is sad to hear, it is a sensible decision.
We often see players rush back too soon and then have a setback in their recovery.
It is imperative for Liverpool to have Van Dijk back in the starting XI next season, so we’re sure Jürgen Klopp is delighted with his defender’s decision.

Of course, the German would surely have loved to see his towering No.4 partake in a major tournament.
However, Van Dijk’s injury was extremely serious – a major setback could have huge implications on the remainder of his career at the top level.
It must’ve been tough to accept not playing at EURO 2020.

However, in taking this decision, Van Dijk will hopefully be at the top of his game when the new Premier League season, and the 2022 World Cup, comes around.
Amid a time where Liverpool might not even secure Champions League football for next term, the Dutchman’s tweet seems to have cheered some supporters up.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about Van Dijk’s four-word tweet…
