What a way to round off the year for Leeds United.
In their final game of 2020, the Whites went to Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion and returned to West Yorkshire with a stunning 5-0 victory.
Better yet, Leeds were 4-0 ahead by the half-time whistle, making the second 45 minutes a mere formality.
The last time that Marcelo Bielsa’s side played in the West Midlands resulted in a 3-0 win away to Aston Villa.
Gabby Agbonlahor, a Villa legend, hasn’t made himself popular with Leeds supporters this season due to some inflammatory comments about United.
But the former Aston Villa forward held his hands up last night. Here’s what the footballer-turned-pundit tweeted during the Leeds’ demolition:
There’s been some hairy moments for Leeds on their Premier League return following a 16-year absence – a 6-2 defeat by Manchester United a couple of weeks ago stands out.
But for the most part, Bielsa’s side have been an absolute credit to the top flight and it’ll be fascinating to see if they can maintain this momentum in 2021.
There’s a lot of neutral fans very much hoping Leeds remain as entertaining as ever.
