Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and Southampton reportedly want to sign Omar Elabdellaoui in the January transfer window.
Omar Elabdellaoui is a player reportedly in demand, with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and Premier League club Southampton claimed to be interested in the Olympiacos right-back.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic want to sign Elabdellaoui in the January transfer window, while The Daily Mail has credited Southampton with interest in the 27-year-old Norway international, who can also operate as right-sided midfielder.
Olympiacos manager Pedro Martins has suggested that the club will not sell Elabdellaoui this month, as quoted in The Scottish Sun, but if the right-back has to choose between the Hoops and the Saints, then he should pick the Scottish giants.
Southampton are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and could well find themselves playing Championship football next season.
As for Celtic, Brendan Rodgers’s side are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and have also progressed to the round of 32 of the Europa League this season.
The Glasgow giants could also find themselves playing in the Champions League next season.
Playing well for Celtic for a season or two could well see Elabdellaoui attract the attention of bigger clubs than Southampton in the Premier League.
