Leeds United need more pace up front and the 21-year-old certainly has that.

According to a recent report from the Sun (12/03 page 61), Leeds United are planning a move for Exeter City striker Ollie Watkins at the end of the season, and when you consider one of his key attributes, that is no surprise.
First and foremost, Watkins knows where the goal is, as his 14 goals and 11 assists this season prove, but perhaps just as importantly, Watkins possesses pace in abundance.
While Leeds striker Chris Wood has been in superb form this season, firing the Whites into the play-off places in the process, the New Zealand international would be the first to admit that he is not the quickest of players.
Not so Watkins, who is lightening fast and would offer an effective alternative for Leeds next season and beyond.
He could play alongside Wood, offering pace in behind and giving Leeds’ opponents a lot more to think about in the final third, while his ability in front of goals means he would be a viable alternative when the older striker is unavailable.
While some Leeds fans may scoff at the prospect of bringing in another lower league striker, Watkins has the attributes needed to be a success at Elland Road; a smart signing that strengthens a key area and offers something the Whites do not currently have.
