Sky Sports pundit David Prutton is tipping new Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway to get off to a flyer against Norwich City this weekend.

Holloway left Sky last week to return to Loftus Road following a 10-year hiatus, with Prutton replacing him as the broadcaster’s Football League predictor.

It is perhaps little surprise then, that the former Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder has gone for a win for his old colleague’s new side.

“Well, I have to lean towards our ex-colleague here!” said Prutton. “He’s already been at his most fully turned-up-to-11 Ian Holloway this week, he’s been having a great time.

“Norwich haven’t been how we expected them to be this season and Alex Neil got plenty of defensive issues he needs to address.

“With Ollie being there and we know what he can do, he’s very enthusiastic and I’m sure he’s going to get QPR pushing in the right direction, but I can see it being close.

“1-0.”

Neither side are in good form going into Saturday’s Loftus Road clash, with QPR winless in three – prompting Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s sacking a fortnight ago – and Norwich surpassing their opponents’ poor run by two matches in all competitions.

Though 17th in the table, the R’s can close the gap on the fifth-place Canaries with a win.

Holloway, who led QPR into the Championship during his first spell in charge, has vowed to leave the west London side in a better state than the one in which he found them.

If national newspaper speculation is true, then City’s Alex Neil could become the second-tier’s next managerial casualty if results fail to improve.
