Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham speaks highly of Ryan Christie.
Ntcham – who joined the Hoops from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million – made the comments following Brendan Rodgers’s side’s 3-0 win against Heart of Midlothian at the weekend.
Christie was superb for Celtic and scored the third goal for the Hoops in the Scottish League Cup semi-final tie.
French youngster Ntcham, 22, has praised the 23-year-old Scotland international midfielder, who moved to Celtic from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer of 2015 and earns £4000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star.
Ntcham told The Scottish Sun: “Ryan Christie really changed the game. He won the penalty and scored a great goal.
“I hope he can go on to the next level because he works hard every day in training and it’s good to have him around.”
Celtic impact
Christie is a very talented and promising young midfielder, but the 23-year-old has failed to make a huge impact at Celtic so far.
The performance of the Scotland international on Sunday, though, underlined his quality, and perhaps manager Rodgers will now give him regular chances in the coming weeks.
With Celtic aiming to win the domestic treble and progress to the knockout rounds of the Europa League, there is an important role for Christie.
