Everton are said to be tracking Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud ahead of the January window.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has told Football.London that he believes a loan move could be a possibility in January, and that could suit Everton.

The Toffees are known to be looking for a forward in January, and Giroud was on their wishlist in the summer.

The 31-year-old turned them down at that stage, but a move to Everton could be more appealing now, as he has struggled for game time this season.

‘I’ll ask myself the question again in January,” Giroud said. “That’s for sure.

“Loan could be best solution. But I don’t know if Arsenal would want that.”

A loan move for Giroud could be perfect for Everton, as it would give them a short-term solution to their striking problem.

The Toffees have struggled to find a goalscorer this campaign, but Giroud would offer them that, until the end of the season.

Sam Allardyce would then have the chance to re-assess in the summer, and find the best option for the Goodison Park club.

If Giroud was to move to Everton and the transfer was a success, it may also convince the French international to make his move to Merseyside a permanent one at a later date.
