France’s Moussa Sissoko shoots at goal
Quoted by the Daily Star, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has claimed he tried to convince Moussa Sissoko to join him at the Emirates this summer.
The midfielder became one of the hottest properties of the summer transfer window following his fine performances for France at Euro 2016.
He had to wait until deadline day to secure his move, though, with Tottenham Hotspur sealing his signature at the death, moving to steal him from under the noses of Premier League rivals Everton.

One side he had previously been linked to was Arsenal, who he openly admitted he would want to join.
And Giroud has admitted he tried to convince his compatriot to make the move to the Emirates.
“I told him to give Arsenal the priority,” he told the Daily Star.
“It’s true it was a special conclusion, until the end, he didn’t know what he’d do. It’s good that it turned out well for him at the end.”

It now remains to be seen if Arsenal ends up regret end up not making a move for Moussa Sissoko this summer.
In truth, it is hard to imagine where he would have fitted in at the Emirates given the number of attacking midfielders they already have at their disposal.
However, should he go on to replicate the form he showed in France for Spurs on a regular basis then the Gunners, as well as several other teams, will certainly regret not moving for him.
