Ayoze Perez of Newcastle United celebrates scoring his sides first goal with team mate Dwight Gayle of Newcastle United during the Premier League match between Stoke City and Newcastle...

Ayoze Perez has teased Newcastle United teammate Rob Elliot on Twitter after posing a video of an audacious chip that left Elliot dumbfounded from the club’s training camp in Ireland – and the post even drew praise from Olivier Bernard.

Perez, 24, is set to enter his fifth season with Newcastle since joining the club from Tenerife in the summer of 2014, after a strong 2017-18 campaign where he finished in excellent form – scoring six goals in the club’s last seven league games.

It seems as thought the Spain Under-21 international has not lost his sharpness, as he attempted a spectacular backheel chip that ended up in the top corner of Elliot’s net in training.

Perez had the cheek to post a video of the goal on Twitter and tease Elliot with the post, tagging Ireland international Elliot in the post by asking the former Charlton man “maybe next time you can save it?”

Perez finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 10 goals in all competitions, outscoring strikers Joselu and Dwight Gayle and now has 35 goals in 154 games for the Toon.

The Spaniard’s goal drew praise from former Newcastle left-back Olivier Bernard on Twitter, who reacted by posting “some finish, bravo” after watching Perez’s effort.
