Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has shown a ‘real difference’ this summer having returned from his loan spell at Norwich City.

That’s according to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who claims that Tottenham sources have been dazzled by the youngster.

Gold praised Skipp as ‘superb’ in last week’s friendly win over Colchester, adding that he was ‘dominating’ in the engine room for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Gold added that people around Tottenham have spotted a ‘real difference’ in Skipp, believing he now looks like a ‘much more confident’ player.

“Oliver Skipp – he was superb, he was really good,” said Gold. “Speaking to some people about him, and they feel that there is a real difference in him. He has come back from Norwich, where he was obviously a key, integral part of their Championship-winning team, and he has come back a much more confident guy.”

“On Wednesday night at Colchester, he was just dominating in the midfield. He had that Hojbjerg thing of just being able to anticipate,” he added.

Skipp, 20, has come up through the Tottenham ranks but currently only has 23 first-team appearance for Spurs to his name.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Norwich City, where he played 45 league games as the Canaries won promotion back to the Premier League.

That loan spell seems to have given Skipp the confidence to take a step forward, as whilst he was superb at youth level, the Premier League is a whole different ball game.

Starring in the Championship against grown men seems to have given Skipp belief that he can make a real impact, and Nuno could now have a star on his hands.
