Oliver McBurnie delivers his verdict on Leeds United’s team

Swansea City striker Oliver McBurnie was reportedly a target of Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side.

Oliver McBurnie has admitted to Swansea City’s official website that Leeds United are a really good team, after watching them this season.

McBurnie’s knowledge of Leeds is vast, as he used to play for them and has friends who are big Whites fans.

Indeed the Swansea striker almost made the move to Leeds in the summer, if reports are to be believed.

The Scottish Sun claimed that McBurnie was all set to sign for Leeds, before he eventually penned a new contract with Swansea.

McBurnie is now set to take on Leeds tomorrow, as he looks to make an impression against his former club.

He said: “My friends are Leeds fans, so they are looking forward to this one.

“Hopefully I’ll be the one smiling on Tuesday night though.

“I know a lot about the club because I was part of the youth set-up and I’m from the city.

“I actually had a goal disallowed against Leeds when I was with Barnsley last season – I was celebrating when I realised it hadn’t been given!

“As a team we know what Leeds are about and the manager will have a game-plan so it’s up to us to execute that.

“They are a really good team, but we go into this game with confidence.

“This will be a big test for us.”

McBurnie could have been an impressive addition for Leeds, but the Whites ended up looking elsewhere for striking additions.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side brought in Patrick Bamford, although it is Kemar Roofe who has led the line for Leeds so far this term.

Leeds have won their first three Championship matches this season, and become the bookies’ favourites to win the division after their impressive start.
