Rangers have played out a goalless draw with Villarreal at Ibrox in the Europa League Group G on Thursday evening.
Villarreal played well in Glasgow, but Rangers showed commitment and drive to earn a point from the encounter after Daniel Candeias was sent off for a second bookable offence on 44 minutes.
The result at Ibrox means that Rangers are now third in Europa League Group G with six points from five matches, just a point behind Villarreal and Rapid Vienna, who are first and second respectively in the standings.
The star of the show for Rangers was Allan McGregor, who made quite a few saves to keep the Gers in the game until the final whistle.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper, who returned to Rangers in the summer transfer window for his second spell at Ibrox, has been superb for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this season, both in the Scottish Premiership and in the Europa League.
Oliver McBurnie was following the match, and the 22-year-old Swansea City striker – who is a boyhood Rangers fans, as reported by The Daily Record – has hailed McGregor.
Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam, who started his professional club football career at Rangers and recently hinted to Sky Sports that he is open to joining the Gers in the January transfer window, has praised McGregor, and so has 21-year-old striker Ryan Hardie, currently on loan at Livingston from the Gers.
