Oliver Glasner has told Eintracht Frankfurt fans not to be ‘worried’ about his future amid rpeorts suggesting the Bundesliga boss could replace Antonio Conte at Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, speaking to Sky Germany.

With Conte on his way out of North London, Frankfurt will not be the only high-flying club fearing a phone call from Daniel Levy.

The likes of Fulham, Brentford and Brighton could face a challenge hanging onto their own head coaches; Marco Silva, Thomas Frank and Roberto de Zerbi among a number of names on Spurs’ managerial long-list (Sky Sports).

Tottenham could look to replace Antonio Conte with Oliver Glasner

The fact that Glasner has just over a year left on his contract, meanwhile, is a growing concern for the most pessimistic members of the Frankfurt support. Tottenham, per BILD, have already made initial contact with the 48-year-old Austrian.

But Glasner, who guided Frankfurt to Europa League glory last summer, has taken the opportunity to remind the media that, as things stand, he will still be at the Commerzbank Arena when 2023/24 kicks off.

“We have no direct influence on what happens on the management floor. It’s not nice for any club when there’s a little unrest,” Glasner tells Sky.

“We’re having some unrest right now, but I have a contract for over a year.

“Perhaps you should think about whether it’s wise for the media to act like that. There’s no reason to be nervous. When everyone comes back (after the international break), we will address it.”

Glasner spent two years at Wolfsburg from 2019 to 2021. He will reportedly be offered a new deal worth around £3 million-a-year to keep him out of Spurs’ clutches.

“I don’t know why anyone is nervous,” Glasner adds. “I still have 17 months of contract (remaining). Christian Streich (Freiburg coach) has just extended his contract, which expires in the summer, and nobody was nervous.

“I didn’t say in any way that I wanted to leave the club. No one will believe what I say anyway. That’s why I won’t say anything more about it now.”
