Oliver Burke left Nottingham Forest to join RB Leipzig last summer.

Oliver Burke has told the Jim White Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 24th January, that he still loves Nottingham Forest and it hurts him to see them performing so poorly this season.

Burke left Forest last summer to join RB Leipzig in Germany, in a transfer deal which frustrated many supporters at the City Ground.

Burke had developed through Forest’s youth academy, but the Midlands club decided to cash in on him at an early stage in his career.

The 19-year-old has gone on to prove his talent, by helping Leipzig challenge Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Burke is now being linked with a return to England, with Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough said to be keen by the Daily Mirror.

And the winger still keeps an eye on English football, with Forest of particular interest to him.

“I have a lot of love for Nottingham Forest,” Burke said. “It’s sad to see a club not doing so well in the table. But I’m sure the fans will brighten up and hopefully they’ll see brighter days soon. They have fantastic staff there, and I wish them the best of luck.”

Burke made 31 first-team appearances for Forest, before moving to Leipzig.

Since making the switch to the Bundesliga title contenders, he has played 14 times and scored once.
