West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke is currently on a loan spell with Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side.

Celtic winger Oliver Burke has hinted to the Scottish Sun that he could look to make his loan move away from West Bromwich Albion permanent.

West Brom decided to allow Burke to join Celtic until the end of the season, and he made a wonderful start to life at Parkhead.

Burke scored twice on debut for Brendan Rodgers’ men, as they beat St. Mirren 4-0 in midweek.

And Burke has now suggested that a permanent move away from the Hawthorns is a definite possibility, if he keeps up his good form.

“It’s not really anything that’s been spoken about yet, but I’m sure if I continue to do well I’ll want to stay here,” Burke said.

“Knowing I’m going to play football, I think that’s the main thing for me now, especially at a young age.

“I’ve been sort of starved of football for the past couple of years, so that’s all I want to do.”

West Brom paid a sizeable fee to bring Burke to the Hawthorns back in 2017, but he found chances hard to come by with Darren Moore’s side.

Burke had made just five appearances for West Brom this season before making the switch to Celtic.

Burke’s goals for Celtic helped Rodgers’ side pick up an important three points, which has put them back in command in the race for the Scottish title again.

Celtic are now three points ahead of Rangers, and they have a game in hand over Steven Gerrard’s men.
