Oliver Burke has explained to Talksport why he snubbed the Premier League upon leaving Nottingham Forest.
HITC Sport understands that Sunderland, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were all interested in the Scotland international, who signed for German side RB Leipzig instead.
The deal, from which Forest are said to have netted around £13 million, caught many people off guard, with the Bundesliga an unusual destination for young British talents.

Leipzig’s recent promotion, their first ever to Germany’s top flight, only added to the initial confusion, although Burke’s decision is being proved right so far.
Having provided the assist for his new side’s winning goal against Borussia Dortmund in a debut cameo earlier this month, Burke opened his goalscoring account in Sunday’s draw at FC Koln.

When asked why he chose Leipzig over England’s top flight, the 19-year-old told Talksport: “Obviously there were other clubs involved from the Premier League, but I really did fancy a change.
“The way they play at Leipzig is exactly how I fit into it. I felt a lot more love from the coaching staff and everybody at Leipzig, and that drew my attention as well.
“As soon as I stepped foot in the place it was for me – perfect. All the facilities I need to become better player and also the right staff.”
Sunderland, Arsenal and Spurs all strengthened their attacking options in the aftermath of Burke’s move from Forest, with Victor Anichebe heading to the Stadium of Light, Lucas Perez to the Emirates and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou to White Hart Lane.
