The Scottish international made a big money switch to Germany this summer.
Oliver Burke in action for RB Leipzig
Former Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke has explained the main difference between football in the Championship and the Bundesliga.
The Scottish winger started the current campaign in fantastic form for Forest – leaving many fans at the City Ground very excited for the future.
In the end however it proved a fleeting swansong for the Scot – who headed to RB Leipzig in a big money deal toward the end of the transfer window.
It was a deal that infuriated Forest fans but Burke is certainly thriving in his new environment.
Nottingham Forest’s Oliver Burke celebrates scoring their third goal
He has already bagged his first goal for the German club and is clearly enjoying his time at the Red Bull Arena.
Speaking to the Daily Mail yesterday he tried to explain the main difference between playing in the Championship and the German top-flight:
“It is definitely a different style of play.
“Sometimes at Forest I would have the freedom to stay wide and stay attacking, maybe not do so much defensively. It’s not about individuality. You really have to work for the team to win the ball back.”
At Forest Burke would have probably ended up getting the rule of the roost, such is his immense talent, but the powers at be in Nottingham decided they would prefer to take the cash for their prized asset rather than keep him on board.
Judging by his early form at Leipzig that might have been a short-sighted decision.
