Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have re-signed Kyle Lafferty.

Kyle lafferty of Rangers celebrates winning over Celtic during the Co-operative Insurance Cup final between at Hampden Park on March 20, 2011 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Oli McBurnie has welcomed the news that Kyle Lafferty has re-signed for Rangers.

The 30-year-old striker has signed up for a second spell at Rangers, having previously spent four years at Ibrox until 2012.

Lafferty has penned a two-year deal with the Gers and will be available to make his second debut when Steven Gerrard’s side face FC Ufa in a Europa League playoff tomorrow night.

The Swansea City striker was linked with a move to his boyhood club himself at one stage this summer.

And the Scottish hitman is clearly delighted with the news about Lafferty, if his tweet to the big man is anything to go by.

Ex-Rangers striker Alex Rae also tweeted his reaction to the news:

One of Lafferty’s last contributions in a Hearts shirt was to score the winning goal against Celtic at Tynecastle earlier this month, enhancing the feel-good factor about the move.

He will compete with Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq for a starting spot.
