Oli McBurnie took to Twitter to express his delight for Allan McGregor after Rangers confirmed on their official website that the 36-year-old had rejoined the club on a two-year deal.

The Gers have wasted little time to get down to business this summer, with Scott Arfield arriving from Burnley and now McGregor coming back to Ibrox six years after his first spell with the Light Blues came to an end.

While Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick have been good signings for Rangers, it appears to be an extremely popular decision to bring McGregor back to the club. Despite his advancing years, he has been a fantastic performer for Hull this past season, and it would be little surprise if Steven Gerrard is planning to use the veteran as his first-choice stopper next term.

The news certainly received the backing of Oli McBurnie. McGregor’s Scotland international teammate took to social media to suggest that he was extremely pleased to see the stopper return to Ibrox.

The Rangers supporters will certainly be hoping that McBurnie follows McGregor’s lead and heads to Ibrox this summer. The Sun reported at the weekend that the Gers had made a £4 million bid for the young striker following his brilliant loan spell at Barnsley during the second-half of this past season.

McBurnie is a huge Rangers fan and his goalscoring record with the Tykes suggests that he would be a fantastic addition if Rangers could agree a fee with Swansea.

With the Gers confirming their intent with the deals for Arfield and McGregor, it would be little surprise if they were determined to end the window having also brought McBurnie through the door.
