Ex-Wolves target Oleksandr Zinchenko has impressed of late for Manchester City.

According to ESPN, Manchester City will be handing a new contract to utility man Oleksandr Zinchenko after some impressive performances of late.
Zinchenko, 22, joined City from Russian side Ufa in 2016 having emerged as one of the top young Ukrainian talents, though concerns arose when a 2016-17 loan move to PSV Eindhoven proved to be a flop.
However, the former playmaker has reinvented himself under Pep Guardiola, becoming a left back for City whilst turning in some fine performances this season in Benjamin Mendy’s absence.
Zinchenko is now allegedly set to pen a new contract, being rewarded with a bumper new deal to stay at the Etihad Stadium as he begins to fulfil his potential.
That news will leave Zinchenko feeling that he made the right decision in August, when he decided to snub a move to Wolves in favour of fighting for his future with City.
As reported by Sky Sports, a £16million deal was set up for Zinchenko to head to Molineux, but he rejected the move – despite just 14 appearances last season.

Zinchenko has worked his way into Guardiola’s side, and whilst some of that is somewhat fortunate due to Mendy’s unavailability, this new contract shows just how impressed City and Guardiola have been with him this season.
Wolves won’t be cursing their luck too much having tied up a permanent deal for Jonny as their left wing back, and may now even understand why Zinchenko rejected them in the first place.
