According to The Mirror, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen at the club this summer.

The Red Devils are set for a huge summer after appointing interim boss Solskjaer on a permanent basis, and major spending is expected in order to overhaul the squad at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer will have a host of targets in mind, but adding some more creativity could be key given that Juan Mata looks set to move on this summer, and one player appears to be near the top of Solskjaer’s wish list.

Now, The Mirror report that Solskjaer has been discussing his transfer plans with the club’s hierarchy, and Tottenham ace Eriksen features on the list of players he wants snapped up.

It’s added that United would be able to triple Eriksen’s wages to £240,000-a-week, and that would leave Tottenham and Daniel Levy in a very tricky situation.

Eriksen is out of contract next summer, and Spurs may be forced to cash in on the Dane in the final year of his deal, especially as United’s offer would see Eriksen earn more than Harry Kane does at Spurs – which was a one-off deal as it was.

Tottenham won’t be able to match United’s offer to Eriksen, but Levy will allegedly demand at least £95million for the playmaker, despite being just around a year away from him walking away for free.

Eriksen, 27, has hit eight goals and 16 assists this season, but may be ready for a move on to another club if Spurs can’t meet his demands, and selling to a Premier League rival would be a major blow.
