Wolves beat Manchester United 2-1 at Molineux on Tuesday night.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the Manchester Evening News that he thought Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio was ‘fantastic’ last night.
The Red Devils made the trip to Molineux on Tuesday night, and were looking to avenge their FA Cup defeat to Nuno’s side from last month.
United were excellent early on, and took the lead through a superb long range drive from Scott McTominay – but that’s about as good as it got.
Diogo Jota equalised for Wolves after a smart pass from Raul Jimenez, and after Ashley Young had been sent off, Chris Smalling’s own goal handed Wolves the 2-1 victory.
The game simply got away from United, but Wolves certainly had goalkeeper Patricio to thank for an outstanding display between the sticks.
Patricio saved two point-blank range headers in the first half from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard, which ultimately kept Wolves from sinking early on.

The Portugal international was at it again with another instinctive save from a McTominay header in the second half, as United couldn’t beat him outside of that first half McTominay goal.
After the final whistle, the Wolves star was hailed by United boss Solksjaer, who branded him ‘fantastic’ after those three saves, believing that they all would have been goals on any other day, but Patricio’s positioning was ‘great’.
“Their keeper had a fantastic performance, Romelu, we got some great crosses in,” said Solskjaer. “He got a great cross from Diogo [Dalot]… those three crosses from three yards in total probably should have all been goals normally but their keeper was in a great position and had some fantastic saves. That’s just football,” he added.
