Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told The London Evening  Standard that he hopes that Martin Odegaard does not play well for Arsenal against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

Arsenal will take on United at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League this evening.

Odegaard recently joined the Gunners on loan from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder is in line to make his competitive debut for Arsenal tonight.

United manager Solskjaer has raved about his Norwegian compatriot, but he hopes that that he does not play well tonight.

Solskjaer told The London Evening Standard about Odegaard: “Of course, Martin is a very talented young player and we know from the national team that he can cause any team problems.

“I just hope he’s not finding his form on Saturday. I wish him all the best, he’s a good boy, good attitude, right character, so I’m sure they’ve made a good signing there.”

Unlikely start against Manchester United

It is unlikely that Odegaard will start for Arsenal against United at the Emirates Stadium tonight.

After all, the 22-year-old has only just moved to the Gunners, and manager Mikel Arteta is unlikely to include him in the starting lineup against one of the title challengers.

It would make more sense for Arteta to keep the young attacking midfielder on the substitutes’ bench at the start of the match and bring him on in the second half.
