Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has faced fierce criticism from his own supporters this season.

Newcastle beat Manchester United 1-0 at St. James’ Park after putting in one of their best performances of the season last weekend.
And Solskjaer admits that he really felt that Newcastle supporters that were in attendance were behind their manager.
“With the pace we’ve got, we should lock that corner down but it’s impossible to get the message across because we gave the Newcastle fans something to cheer today,” Solskjaer said.
“We gave them the game they wanted – end to end at times. We gave them too many counter-attacks.
“That lifted their crowd. You could see they were behind the team, behind Brucey so it was impossible for me to put one or two of the players where they should have been.”
Bruce has faced fierce criticism at Newcastle since moving to Tyneside, with many fans still not won over by him.

However, last weekend’s victory did go some way to relieving the pressure which had formed on the Newcastle boss.
The Magpies had shown little to get excited about over the campaign, but their victory over United has lifted the mood massively.
Newcastle scored their only goal of the game against United when Matty Longstaff blasted in a long-range strike to seal the three points.
Newcastle are now in 16th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Chelsea after the international break.
