Another Celtic youngster has left the club on loan this summer.

Young Celtic defender Eoghan O’Connell has completed a loan move to Oldham Athletic until 1 January 2016.

The news was announced on Oldham’s official website earlier today and the 20-year-old will now be tasked with helping his new side climb further up the League One table.

Oldham are currently 10th in the third tier of English football after picking up seven points from their first five matches and now O’Connell is coming in to do his best for the first half of the campaign.

The Celtic centre-back has played six times for the Bhoys first-team to date, including one match this season in a 3-1 victory against Dundee United.

But despite that outing it was in a much-changed Celtic side and he is clearly way down the pecking order for now given his age and inexperience.

A loan move to England could be the making of him and he – along with Celtic’s other young loanees – will know Deila will be paying attention to his performances from afar.
