Hull City could sign a ready made replacement for Aston Villa target Ahmed Elmohamady with Chelsea’s Ola Aina linked with the Championship club.
As the Hull City manager himself admitted, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is doing everything in his power to ensure that Leonid Slutsky succeeds in English football.
Though a wildly successful coach in his own right, winning seven trophies with CSKA Moscow and turning them into regulars in the Champions League group stage, the 46-year-old appears more than willing to accept his old friend’s aid as he begins his first job on British shores at the KCom Stadium.
According to AllNigeriaSoccer, the Premier League champions could be willing to loan talented right-back Ola Aina to Hull in a deal that could put a smile on the face of each party.
Ola Aina impressed in pre-season for Chelsea
The former England Under-19 captain was tipped to make his breakthrough under Antonio Conte last season only for Victor Moses’ stunning performances at right-wing back to put pay to his first-team prospects.
Therefore, a short-term move to Hull would give the 20-year-old the chance to play regular minutes at senior level. With Aina switching his international allegiance to Nigeria, and with a World Cup on the horizon, the youngster needs to catch the eye.
This could be the first of many players Abramovich hands to his old pal Slutsky this summer.
Like for like
And it could also have repercussions for the future of Ahmed Elmohamady. According to The Sun, Aston Villa have been in negotiations with the £3 million-rated Egyptian right-back for some time as Steve Bruce hopes to reunite with a player he worked with at both Sunderland and Hull.

The Villa manager is understood to be on the lookout for a new right-back with James Bree, who signed from Barnsley in January, struggling to fight Alan Hutton for a starting berth last season.
Elmohamady, meanwhile, would add a raft of Championship experience. His agent, Nader Shawky, told King Fut last month that his client would be leaving Hull for another English club this summer.
And the addition of Aina in his place could pave the way for his departure.
