Harry Winks continued his impressive comeback from injury on loan at Sampdoria despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Lazio on Monday night – and Jamie O’Hara has reacted to his Instagram post, clearly impressed by the Tottenham star.

Winks joined his loan side for the 22-23 term last summer but for the entire first half of the season, the Spurs academy product failed to play a single game. An ankle injury saw him only make his return in January, a few weeks ago.

Since his return, he has made seven appearances, starting the last six. On Monday, he completed the entire 90 minutes against Lazio. The Italian side currently sit in 19th place in the League table and are nine points adrift of Serie A safety.

Sampdoria then, faced a tough challenge in Lazio away. But they kept Maurizio Sarri’s side at bay until the 80th minute, until ex-Liverpool man Luis Alberto struck. They had chances, but ultimately, a 1-0 loss. Winks posted on social media.

WhoScored report that Winks made more key passes than any of his teammates. He also attempted more standard passes, completing 55 of 64. Six out of his 10 long balls were successful. So, a really impressive display with the ball.

Whether Winks has a future at Tottenham remains to be seen. His spell at Sampdoria is unlikely to extend beyond the summer. The England star is only on a dry loan and as things stand, Sampdoria look as though they will be relegated.

But, Winks is certainly catching the eye, especially in Italian football. Spurs may even be tempted, given his Serie A form after injury, to give him another go. Winks also caught the eye of O’Hara, who posted an 11-word message.
