Reports claim that Tottenham have missed out on a move to sign Porto star Luis Diaz, simply because the Colombia ace prefers a move to Liverpool. Responding to the news on Instagram, O’Hara posted a three-word verdict.

Diaz, 24, emerged as a target for Tottenham this week after starring for Porto this season – scoring 16 goals and laying on six assists in 28 appearances. SIC Noticias reported a £46million bid had been made.

Liverpool are said to have offered similar, perhaps less up front but more in add-ons. Both moves are said to be good enough from Porto’s point of view, but Spurs have been overtaken by Liverpool – Diaz preferring the Reds.

That is according to Sky Sports, as reporter Michael Bridge relayed the news on the Transfer Show in a video posted on their Instagram. It is a blow for Spurs, who are running out of time to bring in new faces for Antonio Conte.

O’Hara reacts: Tottenham missing out on Diaz widens Liverpool gap

Liverpool are already well ahead of Tottenham in terms of stature and quality of players – with the Reds a genuine title contender, and Spurs struggling to break into the top four this season.

Missing out on Diaz, especially to the Reds, only widens that gap. The hope for a front three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Diaz would have enticed fans, but it is not to be as Liverpool look to make their move.

O’Hara reacted on to the above video, posting three words on Instagram.
