The Glasgow Rangers midfielder will play anywhere Ibrox boss Mark Warburton tells him to.
Rangers midfielder Michael O’Halloran has told Rangers TV that he is happy to play anywhere manager Mark Warburton asks him to.
The 25-year-old has been played on the right-hand side of midfield for much of his short Rangers career so far, after arriving in January from St Johnstone.
But there has been a flurry of new signings at Ibrox summer, with Jordan Rossiter, Joey Barton, Josh Windass and Niko Kranjcar among the midfield players coming in.
One or two of those could find themselves being shifted out wide; simply because the competition for central midfield places is fierce at the moment.
And O’Halloran has offered his services to Warburton as something of a utility man if he needs to leave right midfield to accomodate a bigger name perhaps.
Speaking to Rangers TV, he said after being asked where he sees himself this season: “Anywhere the manager puts me I’m happy. Obviously on the right is where he sees me just now and hopefully if I work hard I can stay there.”
Rangers kick off their Scottish Premiership campaign on Saturday by hosting Hamilton at Ibrox.
O’Halloran did not start Saturday’s 3-1 defeat by Burnley which may be an indication that he will not start versus Hamilton, but he did, to his credit, come on and force the Ben Mee own goal which restored some respectability to the scoreline.
