Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that they want to sign West Ham United defender Issa Diop.
FootMercato have claimed that Wolves are battling the likes of Southampton and Crystal Palace for the West Ham defender.
Diop wasn’t a regular in West Ham colours last season, well up until February anyway.
And with David Moyes set to start West Ham’s Premier League and European charge with a fresh and available backline, Diop might once again find himself starting from the bench.
That will probably provide a team like Wolves the chance to pounce for his talents and their supporters like what they are hearing about the player.
It wasn’t so long ago that the £22 million man (BBC Sport) was wanted by clubs from the Champions League, but lack of game time has seen him drift far away from those rumours now.
But at the age of 24, there is a talented player in there, and with the right guidance, he can form a really strong partnership at the back for a Premier League team.
Diop has the physicality to deal with the top strikers in the league and he is as good on the floor as he is in the air.
From a positional sense, he can, at times, lack the quality needed, but he is still a high-quality centre-back, anyway.
But those are details that can be worked on if he can earn regular game time in England’s top-flight.
It seems as though the Wolves fans would more than happily provide that for him next season as they look to return back to the top half of the Premier League table with Bruno Lage now at the helm.
