Arsenal made their first senior signing of the January transfer window on Wednesday.
The Gunner announced yesterday afternoon that they had agreed a half-season loan with Real Madrid to bring Martin Odegaard to North London.
Despite being a huge talent, the 22-year-old Norway international, who joined the Spanish giants five-and-a-half years ago as a teen prodigy, was struggling for regular football under Zinedine Zidane this season.
But his ability has never been in question and Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney got a birdseye view of the playmaker at London Colney on Wednesday.
The Emirates Stadium side uploaded a video on Twitter of Odegaard walking on to the training pitches with Dani Ceballos.
Odegaard, with a deft touch, then nonchalantly cushions a dropping ball in an incident which had Tierney purring immediately.
In the video, the Arsenal defender could be heard saying: “Oh what a first touch that is, cushion!”
It was a very early example of the sort of talent that Arsenal fans will be hoping to witness on a regular basis in real games throughout the next five months or so.
He is eligible to make his senior debut in the visit of Manchester United on Saturday but time will tell whether Mikel Arteta throws him in.
