Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after noticing that Fernando Henrique has decided to follow them on Instagram.
What’s the story?
Well, this is an interesting, albeit minor, development in this story.
According to Globo Esporte, Henrique is set to leave Gremio in 2022, with Celtic believed to be his most likely destination.
Intriguingly, Brazil’s Serie A campaign ends on December 9th, so it’s possible that a January move for the 20-year-old is in the pipeline.
Now, the Brazilian has followed Celtic on Instagram, amid a period where he’s been axed from the squad by Vagner Mancini for over two months.
You may not read too deeply into this update, for obvious reasons.
However, in the modern era, it can be quite telling what footballers get up to on social media, especially a young player like Henrique.
Is Fernando Henrique another Kristijan Lovric for Celtic?
Over the summer, it seemed as if Celtic would be signing HNK Gorica forward Kristijan Lovric.
The Croatian, like Henrique, even followed the Bhoys on Instagram as a linkup with Ange Postecoglou looked nailed on.
However, HNK Gorica would not budge on their £3.5m asking price, and the move collapsed (Sportske Novosti).
Now, some of the Parkhead faithful below are clearly wary of getting too excited about Henrique’s social media activity, after the Lovric ordeal.
Hopefully, the Hoops have a bit more luck in their pursuit of the Gremio wonderkid.
