Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in panicked fashion after realising that Joe Rodon cannot play in the Carabao Cup final this month.
Spurs face Manchester City at Wembley on April 25th, but they will have to do so without their £11 million centre-back.
Why? Well, the Wales international appeared for Swansea against Newport back in September, as the Swans crashed out after a 2-0 defeat.
As a result, Rodon is cup-tied, and hasn’t been able to appear for Tottenham in any Carabao Cup action since his arrival in north London.
This isn’t anything new – Football London covered it in December.
However, it has suddenly entered the minds of Tottenham fans following José Mourinho’s decision to drop Toby Alderweireld.

Mourinho claimed that he axed the Belgian for Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle on Sunday as he hadn’t trained until the Saturday beforehand.
However, as the Daily Mail covered, Tottenham actually posted video evidence of Alderweireld at Hotspur Way on Thursday, leaving the Spurs players baffled.
With this drama ongoing, who knows if Mourinho will select the Tottenham No.4 for the Carabao Cup final now.

Alderweireld and Rodon are arguably Tottenham’s strongest centre-back pairing.
In that respect, things could get messy if neither of them play against Manchester City.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans have been saying about Rodon…
