Some Liverpool fans are worried about Nat Phillips’s potential injury.

The Liverpool Echo reported on Wednesday that the big centre-back was absent from Jurgen Klopp’s training yesterday.

And with a huge game away to Manchester United this weekend, the Reds simply can’t afford another defensive injury right now.

With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez being missing since October, and Joel Matip – who took part in training yesterday – being injured since January, Klopp has relied on Ozan Kabak and Phillips’ partnership for much of 2021 so far.

But it looks like Fabinho might have to drop into the back four at Old Trafford to accompany Kabak.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the idea of Phillips being absent.

They’re already underdogs as far as qualifying for the Champions League goes.

The Anfield outfit are sixth in the Premier League and four points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who host relegation candidates Fulham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

By the time Liverpool kick off at Old Trafford, they’re probably going to be seven points behind with five games to play.

Defeat on Sunday might well kill their Champions League qualification hopes for good and that’s why Phillips could prove a huge blow.
