There’s three certainties in this world – death, taxes, and the fact Tanguy Ndombele won’t play 90 minutes for Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League games.
The France international has started 12 league outings under Jose Mourinho this season, but hasn’t finished a single one of them.
That was the case again today during Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Leeds United in North London.
Ndombele, who was reported to have fallen out with Mourinho toward the end of last season during Project Restart, was taken off after 78 minutes of this afternoon’s victory, replaced by Lucas Moura.
Normally the removed player would take his seat on the dugout, but the former Lyon midfielder didn’t cut a happy figure as he headed straight down the tunnel at the Lilywhites’ stadium.

In Mourinho’s defence, Ndombele was brilliant for 60 odd minutes but he did seem to tire in a big way and subbing him off was certainly the right decision, even if it frustrated the player.
That being said, the result is more important than how Ndombele feels about being subbed and this victory took Mourinho’s side – who finished the game with 10 men after a late red card for Matt Doherty – up to third in the Premier League table, four points behind Liverpool at the summit.
