Liverpool fans have been given an almighty injury scare after Andy Robertson said to Sky Sports, during their live coverage, that his hamstring had seized up.
Liverpool defender Robertson helped Scotland to the European Champions against Serbia, but he had to put in a huge amount of effort to help his country.
Scotland ended up making it through on penalties, and during the shoot-out Robertson confirmed that his hamstring had ‘seized up’.
“I think I was next [to take a penalty], but my hamstring had seized,” he said.
It should be noted that Robertson later went on to confirm that he thought he was only suffering from cramp, rather than anything more severe.
But Liverpool fans are very anxious about injury problems at the moment, and they have been left fearing the worst for Robertson now.
Liverpool supporters’ anxiety is perfectly understandable, given their terrible luck with injuries this season.
The Reds have lost Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez to injury recently, with their options in defence severely depleted.
An injury to Robertson would be a disaster now, but the full-back will be fine to face Leicester City at the weekend, if he is correct in his analysis the issue was only cramp.
