Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after realising the extent of Chelsea’s injury crisis, with fears over Conor Gallagher.

What’s the story?

Well, Chelsea are currently without N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, while Jorginho and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are also injured.

That leaves Thomas Tuchel with Ross Barkley and Saul Niguez – both of whom are fringe options – as his only choices in midfield.

As seen against Zenit St Petersburg last night, Reece James can also fill in for the Blues if need be.

You may have already realised why Crystal Palace fans are worried.

If you hadn’t already guessed it, the Selhurst Park faithful are concerned about what this could mean for Gallagher’s loan spell in SE25.

Tuchel confirmed that Chelsea have an option to bring Gallagher back to Stamford Bridge in November, but said he was happy to leave the 21-year-old in south London.

The German told Chelsea’s official website: “You can see he feels good. He has the support of the club and manager, but honestly right now it’s the beginning of November, and he’s an important member of the Crystal Palace squad. It’s good where he is. There is no need to change this.”

Now, after many of his midfielders picked up injuries, Tuchel may be thinking differently.

Chelsea must leave Conor Gallagher with Crystal Palace

In our view, it would be more trouble than it’s worth for Chelsea to bring Gallagher back to west London.

The England international would, presumably, play a few games for Chelsea while Tuchel waits for his main options to recover.

Then, Gallagher may find himself on the sidelines from that point on until the end of the season – it could seriously stunt his development.

Under Patrick Vieira, the Cobham graduate is developing nicely, and seems to be having a great time with four goals and three assists in the Premier League.

For now, let’s see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about the situation…
