Glenn Hoddle told Premier League Productions (15/08/21 at 6:40 pm) he was thinking ‘Oh no’ when Tottenham fans were singing ‘Are you watching Harry Kane’ minutes before their win against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Spurs legend was fearing that Man City would equalise, but he did admit that he did in the end have a ‘laugh’ at what was being sung by the Spurs fans.
Before the game, during the game and after the match, it seemed as though Kane was the theme of it all given that there is this transfer saga surrounding him.
Hoddle thinks Kane himself would have had a ‘smile’ on his face at the chants that were being sung about him over the weekend.
“Were the crowd signing ‘Are you watching Harry Kane?'”, asked Alan Shearer. “Was that what they were singing?”
Hoddle responded: “They absolutely were. That was with a few minutes to go and I was thinking ‘Oh no, don’t get the equaliser’.
“We did have a laugh and an actual smile on that one. I am sure Harry will as well. One swallow doesn’t make a summer, does it?!”

Well, those chants about Kane would have probably grown louder at the full-time whistle and outside of the stadium because Nuno Espirito Santo’s side walked away with all three points.
From Nuno’s perspective, all of this saga, in his first few months in the job, wouldn’t and still probably isn’t easy to deal with.
But one thing is for sure, he has remained calm and composed throughout.
Now it’s a case of what colour shirt his star man will be wearing on September 1.
