Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to react after Bruno Guimaraes scored an outstanding goal to put Newcastle 3-0 up against Norwich.

What’s the story?

Well, Newcastle’s fine form in the Premier League continues, as they raced into a 3-0 lead before the hour mark at Carrow Road.

A double from Joelinton was followed up by the other Brazilian in Newcastle’s ranks, and what a finish it was from the £40m man.

In the 49th minute, Bruno Guimaraes seized upon a loose pass from ex-Newcastle man Tim Krul, before dinking the ball over the Dutchman with a delightful chip.

You can see what Shearer thought of the South American’s finish below.

It was the 24-year-old’s fourth goal for Newcastle since his move from Lyon in January, and it was arguably his best.

Only his unbelievable backheeled finish in the 2-1 win over Southampton can be mentioned in the same breath – both strikes require an outrageous amount of confidence and ability.

Newcastle absolutely bulldozed Norwich

Before kick-off in Norfolk, Eddie Howe had overseen a run of nine wins in 13 Premier League games, and it showed against the Canaries.

Dean Smith was surely expecting a tough encounter, but even he wouldn’t have foreseen the ruthlessness in which the Magpies tore his side apart.

As WhoScored shows, Newcastle had 13 shots, whereas Norwich only took five, while the Magpies also had 54.8% of the possession.

Newcastle now have ten wins from their last 14 Premier League games, which is a truly outstanding run of form given the situation they were in before Howe arrived.

Should this stunning run continue, then a place in the top half is all but guaranteed for the Magpies.
